
How can one ignore the fact that social media is highly influences the reputation and marketing of every online business. Internet, no longer is a restricted media, but rather an integral part of our daily lives. People turn to the Internet for information, advice and social connections; therefore, the best way for you to achieve a great inflow of website traffic and increase revenue is by taking advantage of social media, since this is the most happening way.
If asked me to explain social media, I would define it as: The online technologies and practices that people use to share opinions, insights, experiences and perspectives with each other. Social media is now in everyday public use and has become an integral part of the marketing industry.
I am sure, that entrepreneurs who are achieving their goals with social media won’t be new to this topic but I am bringing these simple ways for the aspiring businessmen to achieve their targets with social media.
- Position social media as a component of your overall marketing plan.
- Signup with social networks such as Friendster, Facebook, MySpace.
- Consider social bookmarking sites, such as StumbleUpon and Delicious, where people bookmark your site to get back to it.
- Contribute to social news network such as Reddit, Digg and Technorati, to stay in news.
- Release your site’s videos on social video sites like YouTube. So people get to know what your site is offering.
- Create micro blogs, so you can exchange links with other blogs and sites relevant to your niche.
- Blogs, create one for your site to come to know what exactly your customers demand and visit other people’s blogs as well so you can let more people know what does your blog offer.
- Forums, is a place where people of the same industry gather and raise an issue about your niche topics so you can put threads to discuss.
- Go to answering platforms, such as Yahoo Answers to recommend your services to people to solve their issues and problems.
- Keep visiting and commenting on other people’s blog, to stay aware about big things happening in the industry.
- Join different groups on social networking sites, e.g. Propeller, Mixx , as it will help more people of your industry to get to you and share more information.
- Create your own group to let people of same interest join and you can add members, publish articles and carry on discussions to meet quite a few prospects.
- Online Video Sharing sites effectively promote your business, organization or publication in this brave new world.
- Check out Twitter as a way to show your bbusiness personality.
- Experiment with Flickr and/or YouTube groups to build media for specific events.
- Start a community group on Facebook or Ning or MySpace or LinkedIn around the space where your customer does business.

Perfect blog for those starting out or relatively new to the online world… I’ve been allocated the “marketing” job for GritFX - which was founded in April this year.
