Bad Money Habits that can Ruin your Finances

Posted by Marie Christine in November 4th 2008

                       Money-Saving-Habits

Believe me, becoming wealthy has nothing to do with your actual income; it all depends on how well you plan financial freedom and control your budget. Even self-made millionaires budget after they have become millionaires, to maintain their financial fitness.

I am definitely not offering you “Get Rich Quickly” tricks and methods but one thing I promise, these tips will help you maintain your hard-earned millions. Many people keep on making money errors repeatedly because they actually do not know how to handle their finances.

Therefore, my friends, either you are an established or a wannabe billionaire; you need to be careful with your money habits and the most common ones are listed below:

  • Spending without a budget
  • Carrying balance on credit cards
  • Ignoring interest rates
  • Not comparing your income and expenses
  • Which unnecessary thing is flushing your money the most
  • Not managing your investments
  • Never saving for emergencies

If you have any of these habits let me help you get a bit organized and careful with your money, with these tips. I bring you alternatives for your spoiled money habits.

•Build Budgets:

This will help you maximize your income and use it to generate more cash as quickly as possible.

•Keep a strict check on your income and expenses:

It helps you identify inefficiencies and notice the money areas, which need improvement.

•Calculate unnecessary spending:

Re-evaluate how much are you spending and figure out the areas, which you can skip.

•Avoid Interest Trends:

Try to avoid the interest trends that affect your personal finances.

•Keep the Records:

Keep a check on your cash purchases and lay them side-by-side with your debit and credit card statements to get a complete picture of where you are spending.

You will surely agree that without knowing where you are, you cannot plan for where you want to be. These tips will definitely help you avoid being a repeat offender and help you learn a better way to handle your finances and money issues.

12 Worst Qualities of an Employee – Better Watch Out!

Posted by Marie Christine in October 29th 2008

                             Worst-Employee

I am sure all the bosses reading this post will agree with me that finding and maintaining reliable and hardworking employees is a burdensome task. The most irritating employees are the ones who add nothing productive to a workplace and tend to act as if they are one of the hardest working employees of an office.

It is an unfortunate and bitter reality that bad employees are everywhere but the employer should have the instincts to avoid incompetent employees.

1.Always talks bad about his colleagues:

This kind of person is always tatling on others to make himself look good by making others look bad. This employee says everything bad about his co-workers to prove himself an efficient and hard-working employee.

2.Tries to act very religious:

Such a person begins nearly every sentence with the reference of a bible. This is annoying because mostly they like to preach the good book, but fail to practice it themselves.

3.A pessimist:

This person is never satisfied with anything. Complains about, his raise, his bonus and criticizes the way his boss talks. Labeling everything negative this employee claims to quit the job tommorow, yet never does.

4.Acts to look busy:

Seems to be very busy but never does his fair share of work done, yet the first one to claim the glory for a well-done job. Such employee always poses to be busy especially when the boss is around but never comes up with work done.

5.Thinks he is always right:

He is the one who thinks he is always right and argues over everything! Even if he is new to the job, he still insists upon convincing that he is right and even often argues with the boss himself!

6.Thinks of himself as a mini-boss:

He is the one who strongly believes that he will be the next boss and keeps on ordering people around. Actually there are some people who are in a habit of giving orders to people around forgetting that they are nothing more than a simple employee.

7.Always asks to extend deadlines:

I am sure every boss hates to have such an employee who has a list of lame excuses for not having his work done, “was not feelin well”, “was stressed out because of personal problems” blah, blah..Keeps on promising that he will get the work done by next deadline.

8.The gossipmonger:

He is the one that either starts all the rumors in office or talks to everyone to get news about other people. They are the people who keep on reporting boss about everything going in office and then spread the news to other workers.

9.Overly interfering:

Few people always love to give their perspective about everything, either asked or not. Employees interfering in issues which normally he is not responsible for, is often asked to leave a workplace.

10.Always complimenting the boss:

Such employees would praise the boss on everything he does but don’t have much to say when asked about work.

11.Have a political agenda:

Such workers always think of stabbing every successful colleague to get ahead. They don’t understand trust and cooperation.

12.Trying to be funny in an offensive way:

Being funny is an admirable quality but some kinds of humor don’t sit very well with all employees. Workers who constantly tell abusive jokes are actually missing the point of being at work in the first place.

I am sure every boss avoids to have employees with any of the above mentioned qualities and I would say if you tolerating any person with any of these qualities, you have found yourself a problem…better watch out :o !
